Reminiscing.. Summer 2011

Hey, it's Andrea. Since we will be visiting Spain in a few weeks, I have been reminiscing on our trip last year to Austria and Italy. That was our first trip to Italy, and our second to Austria. It was a great vacation, and I loved it! This means, it's time for pictures!! <Loud applause>

This is me at the world's longest alpine coaster, In Imst, Austria. It is 2.2  miles long and sooo much fun! That picture was taken by my dad, at the end of the ride. If you have a chance to ride this, I defintley reccomend it; it isn't scary at all! I'm like the world's biggest wimp, but I would've gone on this with no brakes if I had the chance.

Me in Venice. I think it was this bridge that was featured in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. You know, that scene were Indiana just got into Venice? Yeah, it's that bridge.

From a gelato shop in Italy. In case you don't know: gelato is like ice cream, but with some significant differences. For one, gelato has a fat content between 3 and 8%, while ice cream can have anywhere between 11 to 16 %. Also, ice cream is served frozen, while gelato is not. In Italy, there are many gelato shops. This particular shop had dozens of gelato flavours.
This looks so delicious.... this is what my dad ordered when we stopped at a small restaurant on one of the little streets of Lake Garda, Italy. I ordered some pesto linguine, and it was The  Best Pasta I have ever had in my short life.

This was at Juliet's wall in Verona. If any of you have seen the movie Letters to Juliet, this wall is the same as the one in the movie. Sadly, we visited it at night, when it was behind closed gates.

In Venice, we saw many mask shops, selling masks such as this, and some even more elaborately decorated. These masks are traditionally used during Carnival time. The Carnival there is very much like Carnaval in Brazil (Remember Rio?)

So what are you doing during the summer?

On Replay Right Now

Hi! This is Patricia; as of late, my sister and I have been border-line obsessed with a few songs. In no particular order, here they are:

1. Somebody That I Used to Know– Gotye feat. Kimbra (2011)
The song is quite catchy- frankly, we could use more songs like this. As in, more songs that actually speak of something, rather than rap songs that sound good but are mindless. Anyways, Gotye's collaboration with Kimbra was a really good decision, and their music video is very unique. In a People issue from May 14, 2012, the Belgium-born singer said, “Kimbra and I had our bodies painted stroke by stroke, and these shots took eight hours at a time- for four seconds of footage!”

2. Call Me Maybe-Carly Rae Jepsen (2012)
Ah, what to say? Well, this song’s simple but driving rhythm makes it very...energetic. Carly is so bright and looks very radiant. A lot of groups have done “covers” of this song: Justin, Selena and co, Katy Perry, and quite a few sports teams. Even Barack Obama and Mitt Romney made a cover! If it can get the President to dance,  then it must be a pretty good song, am I right?  Not only that, but it peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard Top 100 and is currently number 1 on iTunes. I think that it certainly deserves that spot, if only because of how catchy it is

3.  I’m So Excited- The Pointer Sisters (1982!)
It’s an oldie, but it really never gets old! It’s …EXCITING! You can get up and start dancing and the song is like Excitement in a box. I mean, it really doesn’t get any better than that. :) In the end of the music video, they have an entire club bouncing with excitement. But, really- the song hit the Billboard Hot 100 at 30 and its re-release landed the song at number 9. This song was featured on their 1892 album So Excited! and their 1984 album Break Out.

So, these are my favorite songs right now. What are some of your favorite songs? Comment! :)

Hey I Just Met You, and This is Crazy, but Here's Our Blog, So Read it Maybe?

Hi! I am Andrea. Pronounced An-dre-a. And she is Patricia.
I am Patricia. And I am her older sister.
Actually, we're twins-we're both 13.
Maybe... but I was born first!
So we're twins. Agreed?
Agreed. Although, we are very different.
Yes, yes. I would be the 'Lace' of the Denim and Lace. I like fashion(!!!) and  I am the more outgoing twin, in the way I dress, and  otherwise.
I, while an introvert, am equally amazing and perhaps even more spontaneous. Although I'm not fascinated by fashion, I'm musically inclined and love to read.
Me too. So, I think I shall concentrate on Fashion. And Food. I love Food. And yes, it should be capitalized. Like I said, I love Food. We both like to Travel (with our family), so I think I shall cover that.
I'll take care of Book and Movie Reviews. I figured we could both share our thoughts on Music. Okay, should work out pretty good, right? Stay tuned, posts and pictures will be up very soon! (Soon,soon,soon......)
